Super Eagles coaches Augustine Eguavoen and Emmanuel Amuneke will today continue their tour of Europe with a stopover in Belgium, where they will watch midfielder Alhassan Yusuf in action for Antwerp.
The former FC Hearts star has yet to be capped by Nigeria at any level.
He was blocked by Swedish club IFK Goteborg from the 2019 U20 World Cup in Poland.
The 21-year-old Alhassan, a box-to-box midfield beaver, has scored twice in 19 appearances for his Belgian club since his arrival from Sweden.
He is creative and will bring a lot of energy and commitment to the Super Eagles midfield.
Antwerp will host KV Mechelen and midfielder Alhassan will be expected to start for the title-chasing home team this afternoon.
Antwerp will hope to narrow the 10-point gap with league leaders Union with a home win.
The Eagles coaches have already run the rule on players like Ademola Lookman and Michael Olise in England as preparation for next month’s crucial World Cup playoffs against rivals Ghana gathers more steam.
