Club Brugge will be the favourites going into tonight’s UEFA Champions League playoff at Rangers, but they should expect a battle from the Scottish giants, according to striker Cyriel Dessers.
“I think it’s clear that Club Brugge are the favourites,” the Rangers striker Dessers told HLN
“They’re a team that overwintered in the Champions League last season
“There’s a new coach and new players. But again: I don’t think we’re an easy team to play against.
“The group is full of optimism for the match against Club Brugge.
“In Europe, we’ve always been very strong at Ibrox in recent years.”
He added: “I think Thorsten Fink (Genk coach) said it recently, if there’s a good time to face Club Brugge, it’s now. It’s a lot harder when they’re in top form.”
Dessers scored a goal and made an assist in the previous round of the Champions League qualifiers against Czechia side Viktoria Plzen
