Terem Moffi should be the Best African Player in the French Ligue 1 this season and so succeed compatriot Victor Osimhen, who scooped the Marc Vivien Foe Award last season, but that won’t be the case as he has yet to be capped by the Super Eagles.
To win this award, a player has to have been capped at international level and also have played a minimum of 20 games in a season.
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has taken note of Moffi’s exploits, but he was only named on stanby for last month’s AFCON qualifiers against
Moffi has thus far netted 14 goals, a goal more than Osimhen achieved at Lille at season.
Incidentally, Osimhen was considered ahead of Moffi for the 2015 U17 FIFA World Cup in Chile and as they say, the rest is now history.
