Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi will lead at least five Nigerians to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which has kicked off in the USA with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami held to a scoreless draw by Al Ahly of Egypt.
Zaidu will feature for Portuguese giants FC Porto, while Al Ain from Abu Dhabi have listed three Nigerians on their squad to the USA – former Flying Eagles winger Haliru Sarki, midfielder Joshua Udoh and goalkeeper Hassan Sani Mohammed.
Mohammed, 18, who hails from Kano, was only recently promoted to the senior squad.
Another former Flying Eagles star, Onuche Ogbelu, will feature for Tunisian giants Esperance at the expanded 32-team tournament.
