Kenneth Omeruo, who captained the Super Eagles to a 3-2 win against Sierra Leone at the weekend to qualify for the AFCON, will miss the team’s final qualifier after he bagged his second booking in the series.
The Super Eagles welcome bottom team Sao Tome and Principe on September 4 in Uyo to determine the overall winners of Group A.
They are top of the group with 12 points from five matches, while second-placed Guinea Bissau are two points behind.
CD Leganes defender Omeruo was cautioned in the 46th minute of the Sierra Leone game Sunday.
This followed his yellow card against Guinea Bissau in the previous round of the qualifiers.
