It was only their second win of the season after they first won in November.
Aribo opened scoring after 21 minutes for this third Premier League goal, before home team Ipswich Town drew level 10 minutes.
Onuachu then grabbed the winner three minutes from time for his second goal in the Premier League this season.
Southampton now have nine points from 24 matches to remain rock bottom of the standings and eight points from safety.
