Nigeria will begin their quest to qualify for a seventh World Cup from June 2021 after the world football calendar was adversely affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic.
The second stage of the Road to Qatar 2022 was previously scheduled to begin this October.
The Eagles are drawn in a group along with Liberia, Cape Verde and Central African Republic.
According to the adjusted FIFA international calendar, matches in the second round of the qualifiers will also be played in August, September and October 2021.
The 10 winners will then play off (November 8 to 16, 2021), from which the five African representatives will advance to the World Cup in Qatar – November 21 to December 18, 2022.
