Reports have suggested Premier League club Watford splashed a record-breaking seven Million Euros to sign Super Eagles No 1 goalkeeper Maduka Okoye from Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam.
That will also make him the most expensive Nigeria goalkeeper.
Okoye, 22, has signed an agreement effective January 1, 2022, to join Watford on a five and a half years contract.
Sparta Rotterdam have refused to disclose the transfer fee.
However, @footballOrange reported that they will get a record-breaking seven Million Euros for the goalkeeper.
“The only thing I can say about it (transfer fee) is that it is an amount that cannot be refused by Sparta for an outgoing transfer,” Sparta technical director Henk van Stee said.
The player himself said it has always been his dream to play in the Premier League in England.
“I’m overwhelmed to sign for @watfordFC, to play in the Premier League is something I’ve been dreaming about since I was a little boy…” he said.
