Cyriel Dessers has said he is disappointed that Belgian club Lokeren may soon cease to exist as club.
Lokeren have failed to attract new investors and may not have their license renewed as a result.
“It’s a pity that things are going bad for the club who gave me a chance to become a professional footballer,” he said.
“It hurts how the club have slipped.”
The club were relegated to the second division last season and this season face a promotion/relegation playoff against Roeselare.
Former 36 Lion winger Yusuf Lawal is on the books of the Belgian club, while ex-Eagles star Samson Siasia featured for them before he made the big move to French club FC Nantes.
