Ogenyi Onazi has said the Super Eagles need a coach who will be a father figure to the players if they were to be flying high again.
The experienced campaigner said this against the uncertainties surrounding the future of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr.
“We need stability in the Super Eagles, we have all the talents, but we need somebody who can relate with the players, a father figure who can connect with the players,” Onazi said on SuperSport TV programme Naija Made today
Onazi has captained the Super Eagles, won the 2013 AFCON with coach Stephen Keshi in charge and also featured at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The hard working midfielder also disclosed he is back training again with his Turkish second division club Denizlispor after a lengthy injury layoff.
He said the top target for him in Turkey this season is to get his club back to the top league.
“I want us to get back to the Super Lig,” he said.
