Napoli have sent MRI scans of the injury of striker Victor Osimhen to confirm he will not be available for tomorrow’s friendly against Portugal in Lisbon.
Fans had cast doubts over Osimhen’s injury as he had played the entire 90 minutes in Napoli last Serie A game against Udinese at the weekend.
However, Eagles spokesman Baba Femi Raji has now explained the situation surrounding the star striker.
“Osimhen is injured,” he disclosed.
Yes, he played his team’s last game, but Napoli medics have sent MRI (scans) to the team.
“He will now undergo active rest for 15 days.”
The Eagles spokesman stoutly defended the striker’s commitment to the national team.
“Osimhen is proud to play for the country right from his days with the youth team days,” he said.
“He’s like any Nigerian who wants to play for his country.”
