The Super Eagles may live to regret losing Promise David to Canada as the striker continued his super run with the 2026 World Cup joint-hosts by netting for his second straight international.
🚨 IT'S 5 FOR CANADA!!! ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️🤯
Stellar footwork and effort from substitute Promise David as the substitute celebrates signing a new contract extension with Union Saint-Gilloise with his second international goal! #CanMNT 5-0 #Honduras | 75' pic.twitter.com/eFWfKJl8C4— Canadian Soccer Daily (@CANSoccerDaily) June 18, 2025
Promise David played an official game for Nigeria U23s before he opted to change his international allegiance to Canada, where he was born.
He scored on his Canada debut against Ukraine in June, which they won 4-2, and Tuesday, he fired his second international goal against Honduras in this year’s Gold Cup.
Canada won 6-0.
It was a fitting way to celebrate his new improved contract at Belgian champions Union St.Gilloise.

With the array of stars in SE attack,David Promise can’t be regular in SE even if he decides to don White and Green jersey of Nigeria.
