Nigeria will be without several key players for Friday’s friendly against Russia in Moscow due to withdrawals and injuries.
The NFF said in a statement Monday that injury has forced out Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and Real Valladolid striker Sadiq Umar from the friendly, while Ola Aina from Nottingham Forest, Samuel Chukwueze of AC Milan and Sevilla striker Kelechi Iheanacho have asked to be excused from the match.
Nigeria were already without top stars Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Alex Iwobi before the squad was revised.
Coach Eric Chelle has therefore drafted replacements for the absent players.
The new call-ups include Brentford youngster Benjamin Fredrick, who impressed on his debut against Jamaica in London at the weekend, Russia-based winger Olakunle Olusegun as well as Sodiq Ismail and Isaac Saviour from the domestic league.
Nigeria arrived in Moscow Monday and will begin training Tuesday.
This is the first-ever meeting at full international level between Nigeria and Russia.
