Plans have reached an advanced stage for the Super Eagles to get a new foreign coach before they begin their 2021 AFCON campaign against Egypt next month.
However, the new coach will only be in Cameroon as an “observer” and so allow caretaker coach Austin Eguavoen and his assistants tinker the team at the AFCON.
The immediate target for the new coach is qualifying Nigeria to the 2022 World Cup via the final playoffs in March.
Opinions remain very divided over the return of Equavoen after two previous stints in similar temporary roles did not actually work out.
It has been gathered that the NFF may even have head hunted the new man to replace Gernot Rohr, but would rather keep his identity under wraps till the appropriate time.
Qualification to the 2022 World Cup is top priority for NFF president Amaju Pinnick.
He said as much when he explained that Rohr was booted out to avoid a “disaster”, which will actually be failure to feature at Qatar 2022 that will guarantee millions of US Dollars to the country.

Where would the money go and what would the money be spent on ?
This man Pinnick and his co-travellers should be brought in a stadium, placed in the middle of the field and given strokes of Cain with thousands of Super Eagles fan watching the action.
