Super Eagles defender Jordan Torunarigha is still weighing his options as he will soon become a free agent following the expiration of his contract at Belgian club KAA Gent.
The left-footed central defender joined Genk in 2022 for Three Million Euros from Hertha Berlin after a successful loan spell.
Torunarigha has since become a certainty in the Gent defence with 141 appearances, four goals and six assists to his name.
But now Gent are in danger of losing the Nigerian international for free. His contract expires next year and despite a new proposal from the club, it remains quiet on Torunarigha’s side for the time being.
“He is waiting and looking at his options”, according to Axel Brisart, KAA Gent watcher at Het Laatste Nieuws.A departure is certainly not ruled out. Olympique Marseille are said to be lurking to bring the defender to Ligue 1, while Gent are still hoping for a miracle, but the chance that Torunarigha will sign in the short term seems slim.
