Super Eagles defender Kevin Akpoguma has said he is excited to extend his contract with Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim till June 30, 2026.
Akpoguma’s contract was due to run out June 2024.
“I love this club and there was no question in my mind that I’d like to continue to play football here in the future,” he said.
“This is my club, TSG are extremely close to my heart.
“The management have always believed in me, even in times that have been difficult for me personally.
“I have developed a close connection to TSG and the entire region and would like to give something back with my contract extension.
“Everybody who knows me knows that I’ll always give everything for this club.”
The 28-year-old central defender, who captained Germany at the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand, joined Hoffenheim 10 years ago.
He made his Super Eagles debut against Algeria in October 2020.
