Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has saluted the attitude and winning mentality of Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen scored twice in Rwanda to give the new Super Eagles coach a historic winning debut, before the striker followed that up with a goal in the home draw with Zimbabwe as the 2026 World Cup qualifying series gathers momentum.
The Galatasaray striker was one of the first call-ups to hit training camp in Kigali to set the tone of a new spirit in the national team.
Eric Chelle has been most impressed.
“Osimhen is not a star, he’s a super star,” the coach told a source.
“He has an amazing self-belief that is far beyond talent.
“His self-belief is on a different level.”
Another source told SCORENigeria that the coach and Osimhen have one thing in common – they are both fighters.
The coach and player struck a bond in the recent training camp and there are strong speculations that Eric Chelle plans to make him assistant captain to William Ekong.
