Ekong, 31, tucked away a penalty three minutes from time against table toppers Al Hilal.
However, the goal was only a consolation as his promoted team fell 4-2 at home.
The central defender has played all five games for Al Kholood since his summer transfer.
His club are 12th on the 18-team table with four points.
