Paul Onuachu and Ahmed Musa will join up with the Super Eagles squad in Austria tomorrow to bring the number of players in camp to 20, while coach Gernot Rohr expressed satisfaction with the team’s first training ahead of a friendly against Cameroon.
The impressive turnout of players to camp has doused initial fears that the Eagles will be hugely depleted following the withdrawal of Victor Osimhen, Ola Aina, ‘Simy’ Nwankwo and Kevin Akpoguma due to injury.
FC Nantes winger Moses Simon was the latest arrival to the camp today.
Eighteen players trained today with Rohr more upbeat of a good outing against the Indomitable Lions Friday night.
“The training was okay, the weather was not too hot,” he said.
“Many players are not here, but it’s a chance to try new players, to see new faces, to show something before the World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde (in September).”
