Coach of French Ligue 1 side FC Lorient has lavished high praise on Terem Moffi, who is set to make his much-awaited Super Eagles debut against Cameroon Friday night.
This past season, Moffi scored 14 goals to help modest Lorient to stay up in the French top flight after they had taken the chance to sign him from Belgian club KV Kortrijk for a record eight million Euros last summer.
“Terem is a man of gold,” remarked Lorient coach Christophe Pelissier.
“It’s amazing the state of mind of this player.
“He ticks all the boxes of a top-level player.”
Pelissier further revealed how he personally pushed for the club to sign the striker.
“I pushed the club president by saying he was really the player who suited the style of football that I wanted to play,” he opened up.
“It was a risk that the president took.
“He said to me, ‘You know he only played six games (in Belgium).’
“I said to him, ‘I think he has a big potential and he will express himself at our club.”
