French Ligue 2 club Sochaux have reported that defender Valentine Ozornwafor has been called up by the Super Eagles for a friendly against Algeria.
Coach Jose Peseiro is re-organising the team and the central defence, where the likes of Leon Balogun and William Ekong have held sway until recently, will be one of the departments in need of fresh blood.
Ozornwafor, 23, made his Super Eagles debut against Cameroon in another friendly June 2021.
Algeria host Nigeria on September 27 in Oran.
Both teams failed to qualify for the World Cup later this year.
