A very promising player who has already been called up by the Super Eagles has now been severally identified as the one who is facing trial for rape in Denmark.
If he is found guilty, he could be in prison for eight years and that could effectively end his promising football career.
The player (named withheld as trial is ongoing) was first arrested in September and charges of rape in a hotel room were brought against in him, according to TV2.
He was also detained for 10 days.
It was alleged that the football star forced the girl to give him oral sex in a hotel despite her several objections.
It was further reported that the player also sexually abused two other women in July and August.
His Danish club have failed to release an official statement on the matter, but rather disclosed much earlier that the player had suffered a long-term injury in training and will therefore be sidelined for as long as 10 months.
“The club are only doing everything to protect the huge investment they made on the player since they signed him in January,” a top source explained.
“But this should be the end of the boy.”
