The Super Eagles will begin their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign in October against Cape Verde after they were drawn in a favourable Group C alongside Central African Republic and Liberia.
Nigeria have not faced West African islanders Cape Verde at full international level, while they beat a George Weah-inspired Lone Star of Liberia at the post to qualify for the 2002 World Cup in Korea and Japan.
The overall winners of this group will qualify for the third and final round of the qualifiers, which will be played on knockout basis with the eventual five winners advancing to Qatar 2022.
