The Super Eagles have dropped FC Porto star Zaidu Sanusi and in his place have called up Rangers ace Calvin Bassey for next month’s 2022 World Cup double header against Central African Republic.
Zaidu is battling for his first-team place at Porto, while Bassey is a big, 21-year-old leftback, who joined Rangers last season from Leicester City.
Bassey is a promising defender with a very bright prospect.
Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka has been recalled after he missed the two qualifiers earlier this month due to Coronavirus infection.
Otherwise, Gernot Rohr has struck to his first-team squad led by the likes of Victor Osimhen, Ahmed Musa and Maduka Okoye.
