The Super Eagles have advanced to the knockout Round of 16 of the AFCON after they beat Sudan 3-1 in a second Group D match tonight.
The Eagles thus have recorded six points from two matches after they also won their opening game against Egypt.
The Eagles got off to a flying start as early as the third minute when Moses Simon set up Samuel Chukwueze inside the box to open the scores.
Nigeria created several other chances, but they had to wait till the stroke of half time to double their lead when Taiwo Awoniyi netted his first goal for the Super Eagles with a header he knew very little about.
The impressive Moses Simon turned from provider to scorer in the 46th minute, when he crowned a fine solo run with a third goal for the Super Eagles.
Sudan pulled a goal from the penalty spot after Ola Aina was adjudged to have fouled a Sudan player inside the box, which VAR confirmed.
Sudan pressed for more goal, but it would end 3-1 in favour of the Super Eagles.
