The League Management Company (LMC) has named Nasarawa United forward Sunusi Ibrahim NPFL Goal King for the past season ahead of Mfon Udoh of Akwa United by virtue of the fact that he received fewer bookings after both players were tied on 10 goals each.
Ibrahim will now get the Eunisell Boot as well as the cash that goes with it, which in this case will be two million Naira at 200,000 Naira a goal.
The LMC announced it arrived at the decision to declare Sunusi the top scorer of the season based on provisions in Rule A9.4, A9.5-2 which stipulated considerations to choose the lead scorer in the event of a tie of two or more players.
Disciplinary records which is the second consideration to break a tie favoured Sunusi as he only bagged a yellow card all through the season as against two recorded by Udoh.
Udoh is the all-time top scorer in the league after he netted 23 goals in 2014 for Enyimba.
