Lobi Stars, on the other hand, dropped to rock bottom in the standings after they fell at Rivers United.

However, it was a hard-fought home win for Rivers as they had to wait until the 88^th minute for Timothy Zachariah to conjure the winning goal.

Rivers United are now third on the table with 38 points from 23 matches, 10 points adrift of leaders Remo Stars.

Abia Warriors cruised to a 3-0 home win over Sunshine Stars, while Niger Tornadoes and Bayelsa United were held to draws at home.
