Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr had hoped ‘Simy’ Nwankwo will move to a big club after his rush of goals last season, but instead the striker has now completed a loan transfer to Serie A new boys US Salernitana.
Rohr said a move to a big club would further improve the player.
‘Simy’, 29, scored 20 goals in Serie A last season for FC Crotone and it was widely believed he will be rewarded with a transfer to a top club.
Today, the striker completed his move to Salernitana.
He will play on loan this season with obligation for the new club to buy if certain conditions were met.
His transfer market value is put at eight Million Euros.
