Tonight KAA Gent made it through to the quarterfinal of the UEFA Europa Conference League courtesy of the fastest-ever hat-trick in the competition by their Nigerian striker Gift Orban.
Orban followed up on his four-goal show against Zulte-Waregem in the Belgian league at the weekend with a treble in the Conference League in Istanbul.
He scored in the 31st, 32nd and 34th minutes at Istanbul Basaksehir of Turkey tonight.
Orban also scored his team’s goal in the first leg, which ended 1-1 for Gent to advance 5-2 on aggregate.
He has now netted five goals in the competition, a goal behind leading scorer Luka Jovic.
The dynamite striker has now scored 12 goals in nine appearances.
