The season is over for Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo after he suffered a hamstring injury in action for CD Leganes which will keep him out for several weeks.
Omeruo last played for Leganes at the end of last month when his team lost 3-0 at home to Sevilla when he was replaced after only seven minutes on the pitch.
At the start of the season, Omeruo, 26, signed a five-year contract with the Madrid club after a highly successful loan spell from Chelsea.
This season, he played 23 matches and scored a goal in La Liga.
Leganes will now have to fight for their La Liga lives without the experienced Super Eagles central defender.
They boosted their survival hopes Sunday by upsetting Valencia 1-0 at home.
They are second from bottom with 32 points from 36 matches with two rounds of matches still to be played.
