5.Calvin Bassey
The Super Eagles defender showed his attacking prowess with the match winner for Fulham in their final pre-season game against Bundesliga campaigners Hoffenheim. He rose high to head home a corner for a 2-1 win for the Premier League club. The goal crowned a sparkling all-round performance by the new signing from Ajax Amsterdam. Bassey is back in London, where he grew up, and great things are now expected of him and Fulham.
4.Ike Ugbo
He has also got off to a flyer, scoring on his debut for Cardiff City to draw 2-2 at Leeds United on the opening day action in the English Championship. It’s a super start by the Canada international, whose parents are Nigerian. His goals this new season will ensure ‘The Bluebirds’ have put behind their struggles of the past campaign behind them for good.
3.Nathan Tella
His stunning opening goal against Sheffield Wednesday was eventually recorded as an assist, but the electrifying winger will most certainly play an important role in Southampton quest to make a prompt return to the Premier League. Tella showed class to help Burnley return to the Premier League on loan from Southampton last season. He can do same for his parent club now.
2.Tom Dele-Bashiru
This is another hot bet in the English Championship who enjoyed a great start in the new campaign with a quick-fire goal to inspire Watford to a comfortable 4-0 home win over QPR. The goal was scored after 33 seconds to make it the fastest by Watford since 2016. The former Manchester City starlet has endured injuries in past seasons and hopefully he will stay healthy to now fulfill the huge promise that Manchester City saw to give him his first a professional contract.

His second goal in this pre-season friendly was a stunner that gave the goalkeeper no chance. Last season, he took Belgium by storm and now the Bundesliga is his latest challenge. Leverkusen coach and former Liverpool great Xavi Alonso should know what he is talking about when he said the big striker “is a big problem for our opponents”. When will the Super Eagles call him up?
