Tolu Arokodare won the Battle of the Super Eagles in fine style, Victor Boniface scored for reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen fresh from international duty, while Cyriel Dessers has continued to bang on the door of the Super Eagles after his winner for Rangers in Scotland.
5.Tolu Arokodare
The giant striker crowned a most eventful past few days during which he made his long-awaited Super Eagles by scoring his 18th goal in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League for Genk to record a statement win over Gent on the opening day of the championship playoffs. He made up for firing wide his penalty in the first half to score his team’s second goal in a 4-0 thrashing of Gent, who lined up another Super Eagles star Jordan Torunarigha. Interestingly, Arokodare and Torunarigha shared rooms during the Super Eagles training camp for the crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

4.Rafiu Durosinmi
This is another big striker who is on fire as he scored a brace and provided an assist for Viktoria Plzen to see off defending champions Sparta Praha in a high-profile Czechia League shootout. He has now netted four goals in eight appearances after he has recovered from a long-term injury that had scuttled his big transfer to Germany. He is only 22 and must now be on the Super Eagles radar as coach Eric Chelle continues to shop for more strikers to shoot his team to glory.
3.Cyriel Dessers
The 30-year-old striker crowned his 100th game for Scottish giants Rangers by scoring the dramatic late match winner at Dundee. He has now scored 23 goals across all competitions this season for the Glasgow club. His numbers are awesome to say the very least, but his conversation rate, where he misses chances far more than he puts away, could be why he has not been recalled to the Super Eagles.
2.Kelechi Iheanacho
It was understandable why ‘Senior man’ was very emotional when he got his first goal for Middlesbrough in a 2-1 win over Oxford United – it was his first goal since December. It was a massive relief and must have boosted his self-belief that there is still fire in his shooting boots. The Sevilla loanee has the full backing to score more goals from the ‘Boro boss as they stay within range of the Premier League promotion playoffs.

1.Victor Boniface
The striker got everyone talking again when fresh from playing a subdued role on international duty with the Super Eagles, he netted his eighth Bundesliga goal for defending champions Bayer Leverkusen to beat Bochum 3-1 and keep up the pace with table toppers Bayern Munich as the German top league reaches its business end. The heroics of ‘Boni’ at his club have continued to beg the question when he can translate such form to the Super Eagles. He has yet to score for Nigeria in a dozen appearances and has now asked for more time and patience before the goals start pouring in. Will the fans oblige him?
