Sadiq Umar, Raphael Onyedika, Calvin Bassey and Anthony Ujah have already started paying off huge investments by their new clubs across Europe.

5.Raphael Onyedika

Club Brugge latest record signing at 10 Million Euros enjoyed a solid debut in a comfortable 4-0 spanking of local rivals Cercle Brugge in the Brugge Derby at the weekend. He came off the bench following an injury to Clinton Mata and showed why Italian champions AC Milan were also in the transfer market for the former FC Midtjylland youngster. The FC Ebedei graduate will enjoy playing time as he continues his amazing growth in Europe only three years since his arrival from Nigeria.

4.Calvin Bassey

Ajax most expensive defender ever has more than settled down in Holland so much so that he provided an assist in a 4-0 win at Cambuur. He has most certainly put behind a forgettable debut that saw him sent off in the Super Cup loss to PSV. He is now enjoying himself as a left-sided central defender in a three-man defence. Bassey has now moved ahead of Leon Balogun and William Ekong in the heart of the Super Eagles back four.

3.Anthony Ujah

The veteran striker rolled back the years with a goal and an assist for his new club Eintracht Braunschweig to thrash FC Nuremberg 4-1 in a Bundesliga 2 clash. The much-travelled Ujah first scored for his club to give them the lead at 2-1, before he assisted for the fourth goal in the second half.

Maja – Hat-trick for Bordeaux

2.Josh Maja

The Super Eagles striker showed he still has goals in his boots when hours after it looked he was on his way back to England, he fired a hat-trick for troubled Bordeaux to win 3-1 at Paris FC in the French Ligue 2. He has now netted four goals and Bordeaux are top of the standings. Maja opted on the eve of Transfer Deadline Day not to accept a five-year contract from English Championship side Birmingham City. He agreed a 50% pay cut and should Bordeaux fail to win promotion back to the French top league at the end of the season, he will walk away a free agent.

1.Sadiq Umar

The lanky striker scored on his debut to salvage a draw in front of the Real Sociedad fans against Atletico Madrid. This can only boost his self-belief. He could even have won the game for his new club but another of his effort was disallowed by the referee. All the same, he netted a well-taken headed goal and it is believed to be one of many in La Liga as he has now scored three goals in the Spanish top league after grabbing two goals for former club UD Almeria.
