Victor Osimhen, Paul Onuachu and Terem Moffi all scored for their respective clubs leading up to Thursday’s friendly against Portugal. Should Portugal be very afraid?
5.Paul Onuachu
Genk are the undisputed mid-season champions in Belgium thanks in part to the goals of their giant striker, who fired his 13th goal in the league for them to humble hosts Anderlecht. There is certainly no stopping Onuachu since he overcame an injury in pre-season and got off to a slow start. What remains baffling is that no top club across Europe have put cash on the table to sign a striker who in the last two seasons scored a total of 54 goals in a decent league like the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. Let’s see if the story will be different in January.
4.Samuel Chukwueze
The winger, who has struggled for consistency, netted two goals and provided two assists for Villarreal to ease into the next round of the Copa del Rey courtesy of a 9-0 pounding of CD Santa Amalia. This performance in 55 minutes was against lesser opposition, but it can only boost his self-belief. It will be interesting to see how he fares against the Portugal defence Thursday night.
3.Moses Simon
He marked his 100th appearance for FC Nantes with the goal that earned ‘The Canaries’ a share of the points at home against Ajaccio. The visitors were coasting home to a 2-0 victory before Nantes fought back to draw 2-2 with Moses Simon snatching the all-important equaliser a minute to full time. It was his fifth goal in Ligue 1 this season and Nantes will need more of such from him for them to move clear of relegation.
2.Terem Moffi
The striker has continued to get among the goals for modest FC Lorient to be punching far above their weight in Ligue 1 this season. He got his team going again at Strasbourg after just five minutes even though they failed to defend that lead till the end of game. It was goal No 10 for the 23-year-old centre-forward. However, the draw on the road stopped a run of two home defeats to Nice and PSG and the coastal club are back within the bracket for European football next season.
Victor Osimhen's hangtime in the air just gets better. Look at how he suspends himself in the air & connects mildly but intelligently with the ball to bag his 9th serie A goal & 10th in all competitions for the 22/23 season.

1.Victor Osimhen
The Napoli star striker is rocking after he fired his ninth goal in Serie A at home against Udinese to go into the World Cup break as the top scorer of the entire league. Napoli remain unbeaten in Serie A this season to stir expectations they are on course for their first Scudetto since 1990, when the legendary Diego Maradona last crowned them champions of Italy. The focus will again be on the all-action striker Thursday night in Lisbon against Portugal, who are heading for the World Cup. How would this red-hot Osimhen had fared at Qatar 2022?
