A new generation of strikers are doing the business in Europe going by what they produced this past week – Chidera Ejuke (SC Heerenveen/Holland), Terem Moffi (KV Kortrijk/Belgium) and Jordan Kadiri (Ostersunds FK/Sweden).
5.Terem Moffi
The fans of KV Kortrijk are now signing the name of the left-footed centre-forward after he inspired the team to stage a comeback in the derby against Zulte-Waregem. Zulte-Waregem raced into a two-goal lead only for Moffi to pull a goal back before Kortrijk snatched a much-needed equaliser in stoppage time.

4.Jordan Kadiri
The young striker proved his pre-season form was not a fluke after he delivered a hat-trick in a 4-0 win by Ostersunds FK against GAIS in the Swedish Cup. He will now be sidelined for at least three weeks after he twisted his ankle when he scored his second goal. But he will most certainly be one of the strikers to watch when the new league season in Sweden kicks off.
3.Chidera Ejuke
The former Golden Eaglets winger started life as a striker on a bright note after he scored a goal and gave an assist for SC Heerenveen to snap out of a seven-game winless run at FC Twente. Ejuke has now netted nine goals in 24 appearances to make him his club’s leading scorer in the league this season.

2.Anthony Nwakaeme
The winger and his club Trabzonspor are enjoying a splendid run in their push to be champions of Turkey. He came off the subs’ bench to score and also provide an assist for Trabzonspor to return to the summit of the league table after a 5-2 win over Rizespor. He has now scored nine goals in the league, one goal shy of his overall tally last season. The championship could well go down the wire as Trabzonspor, defending champions Galatasaray and Sivasspor are all on 48 points each. The goals and assists of Nwakaeme will therefore be crucial.
1.Odion Ighalo
The on-loan striker made history when he became the first Nigerian to score for mighty Manchester United as they demolished Club Brugge to advance in the UEFA Europa League. It was his first start for ‘The Red Devils’ and there couldn’t have been a better way to justify it than by getting on the scoreboard. It was a typical goal poacher’s effort – a dash into the box to connect home a cross despite the attention of his marker.
