Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has again proved he is the man who could keep Nottingham Forest in the Premier League after his match winner at fellow relegation battlers Southampton.

Barcelona Ladies won their 13th straight league game of the season with the Super Falcons star scoring a goal and providing an assist in a 4-0 drubbing of Sevilla. It was her fifth goal of the campaign after she finished top scorer of the championship last season with 25 goals. Barcelona are again unstoppable this term for their seventh title as they are seven points clear of closest rivals Levante.
4. Victor Osimhen
He scored his tenth Serie A goal for table-topping Napoli to bounce back to winning ways after the reversal they suffered at the hands of Inter Milan the previous match day. Osimhen remains the leading scorer in Serie A as a result. Napoli are now seven points clear of second-placed Juventus on the table with 44 points. Interestingly, both teams clash in Naples Friday night as the race for the Scudetto gathers steam almost halfway through the campaign.

3.Paul Onuachu
The giant striker has started the New Year with a bang as he found target for Genk to consolidate their leadership of the Belgian league with a 3-1 home win over defending champions Club Brugge. He has now fired 14 goals in the league to remain the leading scorer and 15 goals in all competitions. Genk are also seven points ahead of nearest rivals Union with 49 points after 19 games.

The Super Eagles striker netted his 16th FA Cup goal since 2016 to shoot Leicester City to the fourth round of the cup competition at the expense of Gillingham. His goals were crucial for Leicester City to win their first-ever FA Cup two years ago and their progress to the Round of 16 must be a big boost for a club fighting desperately against relegation this season.

On the back of his Man-of-the-Match display against Chelsea, Awoniyi grabbed his third match winner at Southampton at the weekend that took Nottingham Forest out of the relegation zone in the Premier League since August. That means he alone has accounted for nine of their 17 points thus far. He has now scored four goals in the Premier League since his arrival in the summer from the German Bundesliga. Forest are now two points clear of the drop zone, but the season is only halfway played and that means nothing is still guaranteed.
