Ademola Lookman followed up on his first UEFA Champions League goal for Atletico Madrid with his first La Liga goal against Espanyol to prove that even at 40 million euros he is a bargain buy for the top Spanish club.
5. Franklin Tebo
In a past week of many superb displays by Nigerian stars across Europe, the central defender caught they eye as the match winner for Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade at French Ligue 1 side Lille in the UEFA Europa League Playoffs first leg. Tebo, who was capped by the Super Eagles in a series of friendlies in the USA a few years ago, was outstanding in this victory, earning an impressive 9.4 points personal rating by Sofascore. It will now be a major upset should Red Star advance to the next round of the competition at the expense of one of the favourites.

4.Alex Iwobi
The Super Eagles star made the first goal via a corner for Fulham to go ahead at Sunderland and he then made the game safe for his London club with a superb finish off a quick counter in a 3-1 win on the road. This victory ended a three-match losing run and Fulham are now 10th in the Premier League standings with 37 points from 27 matches. Iwobi got a personal rating of 8.2 points by Sofascore. He has now netted two goals and made as many assists in the Premier League for Fulham, who could still push for a place in Europe next season.

3. Victor Osimhen
Galatasaray achieved a famous 5-2 home win over Juventus in the UEFA Champions League with one of the surprises being that their Super Eagles striker was not on the scoresheet. However, Osimhen’s selfless displays and pressing got him two assists to show he can also play for the team. The rematch in Italy against a team who are interested in signing him in the summer will be very interesting and again Osimhen will be expected to play a key role in the proceedings.
2.Raphael Onyedika
He scored a goal and made an assist for Club Brugge to fight back and hold Atletico Madrid to a 3-3 draw in a Champions League first leg Playoffs in Belgium. The home draw has given the Belgian club a fighting chance in the return leg in Spain tomorrow night. However, Onyedika will have to watch this game from the sidelines as he is suspended having picked up his second booking of the series. Club Brugge coach Ivan Leko has admitted it will be difficult to replace him.

1.Ademola Lookman
For the second week running, ‘Mola’ is the standout Nigerian star. It was a past week of “firsts” for the forward – he scored his first Champions League goal for Atletico and then followed that up with his first La Liga goal for his new club in a 4-2 home win over Espanyol. He has now scored four goals and provided two assists in six appearances to match the best-ever start by an Atletico player since Luiz Saurez in the 2020/2021 season. But as expected, Atletico coach Diego Simeone has demanded a lot more from ‘Mola’ particularly as it concerns his overall performance.
