No one is in doubt who is the undisputed number one midfield star for top Danish club FC Midtjylland and it’s none other than their Nigerian import Frank Onyeka.
The Lagos-born Onyeka would begin the year 2020 on a winning note and another superb 90-minute showing as Midtylland beat Lyngby 2-0 on February 17.
Onyeka, 23, would feature in more 12 games in 2020 to finish the previous season on a high, winning the league title and wrapping up a combined 21 appearances for the year under review.
In the current season, he has made nine appearances and scored a goal in the league for table-topping Midtjylland.
Last season, he scored four goals in 32 league appearances.
He featured in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, playing against the likes of Liverpool and Ajax Amsterdam after he scored the goal that propelled them to the money-spinning round of the competition.
It is expected that in the coming summer he will finally move to a bigger league after he missed out on doing such this past year no thanks to the high valuation by his club.
He may have stumbled on his long-awaited Super Eagles debut against African champions Algeria, but he has enough class to return to top reckoning at this level.
