The managerial statistics compiled by Tom Saintfiet, which has included losing his four 2026 World Cup qualifiers with the Philippines, have raised serious questions about his suitability for the Super Eagles top coaching post.
The much-traveled Belgian coach has in the last few days emerged as favourite to the lead the Super Eagles.
However, his stats may well work against his getting the job.
This year, he has lost all seven matches with The Philippines, which have included four 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
His team have yet to score a goal and have conceded 18 goals.
The managerial stats of the 51-year-old Saintfiet showed he won 15 of the 52 matches under his charge to give a 28.85% win percentage.
His teams have scored 1.29 goals per game, while conceding 2.43 goals a game.
However, his promoters argue that he achieved a lot with The Gambia, qualifying them to the quarterfinal of the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
