SCORENigeria can specially report that top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will meet with the lawyers of Gernot Rohr Tuesday in a bid to hammer out a severance package with the Super Eagles coach.
An official announcement has yet to be made over the future of Rohr as it concerns the Super Eagles.
But the coach himself has told close associates that he has “verbally” been sacked by the NFF.
The NFF have denied the sack of Rohr, while admitting there were also exploring several possibilities.
“There are a number of possibilities but we have not taken a decision to sack Gernot Rohr,” NFF president Amaju Pinnick was quoted in an official statement.
“I want to assure that whatever decision is eventually taken will be one that will please the generality of Nigerians.
“Mr Rohr has a contract with the NFF and there is a procedure for disengagement.
“If we get to that bridge, both parties will look at the contract and see what has to be done both ways.”
The NFF have already made Rohr a first offer of a payoff of a year’s salary, which will be about $600,000, to step down.
The severance fee stipulated on the coach’s contract, which runs out in December 2022 is a hefty $2 Million.
He also has some bonuses for qualifying for the 2021 AFCON put at around $60,000 as well at least several months’ salaries are also outstanding.
