Rivers United are top of the NPFL provisionally after they defeated Enyimba 2-0 today in Port Harcourt.
It was a match between former Super Eagles and now Rivers United coach Finidi George and his one-time assistant at Enyimba, Yemi Olanrewaju.
And in the end the big boss Finidi carried the day against his former club.
Rivers United went in front after 17 minutes through Ubong Friday, before they made the game safe late three minutes from fulltime through young striker Seiyefa Jackson.
Rivers United now lead the standings with 10 points from four matches.
In other matches played today, El Kanemi Warriors were held to a 2-2 draw by visiting Plateau United and Niger Tornadoes were pegged back by Bendel Insurance in Minna.
