Rivers United back on top of NPFL

Rivers United are back at the summit of the NPFL after they pipped Barau FC 1-0 in a rescheduled match.

Rivers United now have 46 points from 24 matches, a point ahead of second-placed Ikorodu City, who have played three more matches.

Captain and defender Stephen Manyo was the match winner for the Port Harcourt club in the 84th minute against a resolute Barau FC.

Rivers United participation in the group phase of the CAF Champions League caused them a backlog of NPFL fixtures.
