Several reports out of Turkey said Paul Mukairu is headed to Denmark for a medical in respect of a transfer to FC Copenhagen.
Danish publication Tipsbladet said that besides interest of Nigeria youngster Akinkunmi Amoo of Swedish club Hammarby, FC Copenhagen are closing in on Mukairu.
The striker was loaned out to Belgian club Anderlecht last season and this season he is back in Antalyaspor, where he has netted three goals in 17 league games.
Paul Mukairu can play in all three front positions, but his main position is on the left wing, and his market value stands at just over 23 million kroner on Transfermarkt.
This will not be a cheap acquisition by FC Copenhagen – also considering that his contract with his Turkish club will not expire until the summer of 2024.
One of the media platforms that reported FC Copenhagen are close to signing the forward is A Spor with almost a million followers on Twitter, and several media have since followed suit with information about the impending transfer.
It comes as a bit of a surprise, if it is true that it is FCK who are running with the striker’s signature, as he was rumored earlier in this transfer window to be very close to a switch to English Championship club Nottingham Forest.
