Remo Stars have set an unwanted record in the NPFL – champions the previous and now relegated to the NNL this past season.
Remo Stars joined El Kanemi Warriors, Bayelsa United and Wikki Tourist to play in the second-tier NNL after they failed to beat hosts Bendel Insurance Sunday on the final day of action in the 2025/2026 season.
Their relegation was confirmed after Kun Khalifat beat Wikki Tourist 3-1 in a delayed match Sunday.
Officials had earlier announced that the game will be played today due to heavy rain.
This win lifted the Owerri club from the drop zone as they finished 12th with 49 points from 38 matches.
Remo Stars placed 17th with 47 points.
The other relegated clubs from the NPFL are El Kanemi Warriors (47 points), Bayelsa United (43 points) and Wikki (40 points)
