CD Nacional, who have been relegated to the Portuguese lower league, have released Nigeria forward Ibrahim Alhassam ‘Muazzam’.
‘Muazzam’, 22, joined Nacional on a free transfer after Austria Wien did not take an option on a loan deal to give him a permanent contract.
In Portugal, he was converted to defensive midfield and even posted a handful of five-star displays, but he also battled injury.
He made 12 league appearances and scored a goal.
Nacional finished second from bottom in the Portuguese top league to make a prompt return to the lower division.
