Crotone coach Serse Cosmi has revealed record man ‘Simy’ Nwankwo will not go down to Serie B with Crotone as he deserves a bigger stage to display his talent.
Nwankwo scored his 19th goal in Serie A at Parma Saturday, but despite a 4-3 victory Crotone are doomed for a prompt return to the Italian lower league at the end of the season.
And now his coach has said he will quit Crotone for a bigger challenge.
“He will leave Crotone for a better situation,” Cosmi revealed to Sky Sports Italia.
“I don’t think he will stay in Serie B, he deserves to play on stages like this (Serie A) or to go abroad.
“It is not easy to understand his potential if not looking at the numbers: last year he scored 20 goals, this year he is on course to scoring as many.
“He has an incredible ice-cold composure in front of goal.”
Several top clubs in Italy and overseas have already been linked with the striker.
