Mikel Agu has told SCORENigeria he believes the Super Eagles will win their first two 2021 AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho later this month.
The Portugal-based defensive midfielder has been recalled to the Eagles after he was last involved with the national team before the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
“We’re going for all six points,” Agu told SCORENigeria
“It won’t be easy but we are capable of it.
“Two wins in our first two games will boost our chances of qualifying early for the competition.”
Nigeria begin their AFCON qualifying campaign on November 14 against Benin Republic in Uyo.
The Eagles will then take on hosts Lesotho in Maseru three days later.
Agu, who features for Portuguese club Vitoria Guimaraes from FC Porto, said he is pleased with another opportunity with the Super Eagles.
“I am happy to be back,” he said.
“I am very grateful to the coach for this opportunity.”
