In the month under review, the 24-year-old Fernandez played a major role as Rangers let in only a goal in the league.
Fernandez, whose middle names are Oluwasegun Opeyemi and whose favourite Afrobeat star is Asake, was born in London and he is the youngest of a family of eight children.
He joined Rangers last summer for 2.5 million pounds from English club Peterborough United after starting out in the eighth-tier of the game in England.
