Premier League club Fulham have backed Calvin Bassey, who scored in regulation time for them to eventually go past Manchester United in the FA Cup, while strongly condemning the racist abuse targeted at him.
A club statement said such abuse on social media does not have a place in football, it is therefore unacceptable and their full support is for Calvin Bassey.
Fulham further assured that they will work with the relevant authorities to identify those behind the vile messages for “the strongest form of action” to be taken against them.
