Premier League rock bottom club Southampton have asked Paul Onuachu to find a new club as he does not have a future with them.
This comes as top Belgian team Club Brugge are interested in getting the giant striker.
Southampton want to get rid of some redundant players in January. They languish at the bottom of the table and want to free up budget to bring in some reinforcements.
One of the surplus players is Onuachu. With only 134 minutes of play in seven games, the towering attacker has no future at St. Mary’s. He has been told to find a new club.
According to Voetbalkrant, Club Brugge are interested.
They have a similar striker like Onuachu in Gustaf Nilsson – he is currently out of action – but they do not want this opportunity pass them by.
Although the price tag will be decisive. Southampton paid 18 million euros for Onuachu to another Belgian club KRC Genk in 2023.
‘The Saints’ hope to recover as much of that amount as possible, while Transfermarkt estimates his market value at 13 million euros.
Club Brugge are working on an amount under 10 million euros to bring Onuachu to the Jan Breydel Stadium.
